About Us

The Lewis Music Press was established in 2001 as a publishing and internet based micro-publishing business initially for the publication and distribution of the works of Scottish Composer and Arranger, Andrew Duncan.

Lewis Music Press Online is the main retail outlet for the business. Using the internet has enabled us to successfully run an international mail order music publishing business from the relatively remote location of the beautiful Scottish island group, the Outer Hebrides.

Initially focusing mainly on music for Brass Bands, the Lewis Music Press has gradually added more titles to our lists including music for Concert Band, Brass Quintet and many titles for Soloist and Piano.

Future plans include further new additions to our list of publications, with a new book of Traditional Highland tunes as well as two new songbooks of Scottish Gaelic songs currently being compiled. These will come under our new label - Clò Ceòl Leòdhais (Scottish Gaelic for Lewis Music Press).

Our thanks go to the Western Isles Enterprise (WIE) who helped both financially and also in an business advisory role with our business start up in 2001, and who have subsequently helped financially in terms of website development.
